Well now,folks frum these parts don't know what a pursessun wuz so I thought we otta have sumpin' like a parade. My uther bubbs got thar trucks all fard up, the far engin' did the siren thang. The bubettes never looked so good, they wur a sight for sore eyes! An lil' B.J. (that short fur Bubba Junior) made his daddy proud a hoopin' and hollin' at tha' bubbettes .. don't think he knew why, but he's alearnin'. Maw and Paw kept the yungun's toes out frum under the monster truck tars.
The 'Cow Tippin' team frum "Lickskillet" showed up. Fresh frum the pastures of the Northern Territory .. them Bubbas looked focused. They evun brung 'Bessie', thar 'practice cow' .. she looked nurvus. Zed Fartsmuller, he's a smart feller, was tellin' us how he figured the 'Keg Toss' event woud work better if we emptied the keg first. So we're workin' on that'un'.
The LAW in Oodnadatta said it wuz the biggest crowd since Cap'n Cook wuz here. The pursessun ended at the Court House Square whar Lester (it wuz he's idear), the Gran Marshul, tuk the stage and thanked evurbody fur bein' here.

Short and sweet .. Lester's way. It wuz gettin' dark and the coals wur'a gloin' under the sides of pig an' beef (Bessie wuz not alowed to see this). This wuz promisin' to be the most talked 'bout thag since Edgar and Marleen Roberts got in a fight ovur the TV remote. We're still talkin' 'bout that. The good people down at the Oodnadatta Base Hospital had a little problem removing the 'clicker' frum Edgars body, but they found it .. ventually.
